About the artist

I’m Ambre, a self-taught fine art painter born and raised in the Loire Valley, France. Growing up surrounded by European art, architecture and storytelling sparked my love of art from an early age. My creative journey has taken me through different forms of art, including studying special effects makeup, before I eventually found my way to oil painting. After years of travelling and living abroad, I settled in Australia, where I now create my paintings from my home studio.

My work is inspired by folklore, fairy tales, old-world beauty and the natural world. I’m drawn to ancient forests, mystical creatures, forgotten places and stories with a touch of mystery and melancholy. Through my paintings, I create little windows into dreamlike worlds, places where reality fades and imagination takes over.

I want each painting to feel like a glimpse into a larger story, inviting you to wander somewhere quiet, strange and beautiful. I hope my work offers a moment of wonder, nostalgia and escape, and perhaps the feeling of remembering somewhere you’ve never been.
